This year the BBC fundraising show will be hosted by Graham Norton where a special tribute to the shows’ Life President Sir Terry Wogan will be featured live from the BBC’s Elstree Studios on BBC One.
Last year Children in Need BBC broadcast raised a grand total of £37,100,687, and it was announced on the 6th July 2016 that the Children in Need’s final fundraising total for 2015 reached a record breaking £55,000,000. The amount raised made a positive difference to 480,000 disadvantaged children and young people across the UK, helping them to have a safe, happy and secure childhood and giving them a chance to reach their full potential under disadvantaged circumstances. Currently the ‘Children in Need’ charity is supporting 2,400 projects, which is helping to change the lives of thousands of children every year. This year presenters for Children in Need will guide viewers through a fantastic night of television whilst raising millions of pounds for this amazing cause. This evening the BBC are hoping to raise more than ever in honour of the late Sir Terry Wogan, who hosted the charity show for more than 30 years and helped towards raising more than £848,000,000!
