HMEA Awards 2014

HMEA Major Project Award Goes To…

Catsurveys had the pleasure this year of sponsoring the Major Project Award category, in the annual celebration of Highways Magazine Excellence Awards. Sponsoring the HMEA is a fantastic opportunity to catch-up with other major companies in the highways industry, whilst supporting the HMEA in promoting road safety. The winners this year were unveiled at a splendid gala dinner held in the Nine Kings Suite, at the Lancaster London on the 21st October.

Catsurveys were pleased to announce Costain Carillion JV on behalf of the Highways Agency as the Major Project Award winners for 2014, with their M1 Junction 10-13 Improvement Scheme. Major Project Award Judge and Catsurveys Director Janos Dobsi commented: “Construction was undertaken on an extremely busy highway in limited space using innovative methods and with good stakeholder liaison”.

The Gala Dinner Awards Ceremony was an exceptional evening one of which will not be forgotten, having been privileged with the presence of the acclaimed ITV newscaster Mary Nightingale hosting the awards, along with guest speaker Dana Skelley, Director of Asset Management for Transport for London (TFL), who gave a captivating speech on 100 years of women in transport.

The HMEA Awards brings companies from across the industry together; giving a chance to learn from and reflect on the works carried out on our roads and motorways throughout the year, and celebrates their achievements. It’s a chance for companies to be recognised for their input and to be awarded for the improvements contributed in this ever-changing industry.

Catsurveys would like to take this opportunity on congratulating Portsmouth City Council on their Northern Road Bridge Replacement, and Portsmouth City Council on their Tipner Junction and Park & Ride; both shortlisted for the Major Project Award.
