As you will know, Catsurveys were successful in reaching the finals of the SME National Business Awards in the Employer of the Year category. With our fingers crossed and dressed to impress, the team headed to Wembley Stadium on Friday 7th December for the awards evening.
After entering the impressive Wembley Stadium, we were greeted with a glass of prosecco and walked through to find our table. The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement; all the finalists were keen to discover if they were the ones to win in their category!
What are the SME National Business Awards?
The SME National Business Awards are made up of 17 categories that allow any successful business in the UK to enter these prestigious awards. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers are 250 employees or less. All entries are judged by a national panel of judges.
Why did we enter the Employer of the Year award?
There have been many positive changes at Catsurveys over the past year, and we felt these changes deserved recognition. We have had a comprehensive benefit review which has led to a 46% increase in benefits uptake. These benefits include; paid charitable work day, sick pay, company funded private health care and regular social events.
This year we nominated a member of staff that is known as the ‘Emotional and Psychological Champion’. Our aim for the Emotional and Psychological Champion was to have someone who feels passionately about empowering their peers to normalise the discussions surrounding mental health, someone who will drive changes in all our perceptions and attitudes and provide visibility for this fundamental aspect of our well-being.
These are just a couple of the many changes we included in our award entry that resulted in us being shortlisted for Employer of the Year.
The results are in!
Unfortunately, we did not win the Employer of the Year award, however being shortlisted is still a fantastic achievement and reaching the finals of the National Awards shows our commitment to be the ‘Employer of Choice’ within our industry.
At the end of the evening, all the finalists were gathered on stage and presented with a certificate to acknowledge their achievement reaching the finals. It was fantastic to be among such hard-working and enthusiastic business people, all gathered to celebrate their success.
We would like to congratulate all the winners and finalists of the SME National Business Awards; it is a well-deserved recognition for the hard work that has taken place over the past year. Here’s to next year being even better!
