Success for Catsurveys at the UKSTT Awards!

We announced on our blog last month that Catsurveys had been shortlisted as finalists at the UKSTT awards. We are pleased to reveal that we have been awarded the ‘Application of Digital Technology’ award for our Desktop Utility Record Searches (DURS) platform!

Our team attended the 2018 Gala Dinner and Awards ceremony on Wednesday 19th September, which was held in conjunction with Westrade and No Dig Live. The event took place at East of England Arena and Events Centre in Peterborough.

The winning entry!

We chose to enter the Application of Digital Technology category with the Desktop Utility Record Searches (DURS) platform that we are currently utilising in our works. We created this unique, bespoke and easy-to-use online database-driven Geographical Information System (GIS) for DURS.

The systems developed have enabled us to ensure the timely, efficient and cost-effective collation of statutory undertakers’ drawings. Once an area has been requested all users of the digital system have access to download the information until expiry. A direct by-product of the system and semi-automated process is the decreased project risk and increased safety of all involved with the design, diversion, survey and excavation of buried infrastructure.

The Young Professional category

Joel Baldan, Commercial Lead at Catsurveys was also shortlisted in the Young Professional category at the UKSTT awards. During his time at Catsurveys, Joel has helped develop innovative ideas working together with Catsurveys Research and Development (R&D) team, taking everyday issues faced by survey companies and our clients and innovating solutions that disrupt the industry norm. Unfortunately, Joel did not win in this category, however the recognition of his work and being shortlisted is a fantastic achievement.

We would also like to congratulate Helen Isaacs from Wessex Water who was awarded Young Professional of the Year.

Onwards and upwards

We still have plenty of awards that we have been shortlisted for this year, and we look forward to attending the awards evenings within the next couple of months:

Construction News Talent Awards
Health and Wellbeing Leader of the Year category
HR Star of the Year category

SME National Business Awards
Employer of the Year category

We will keep our blog updated with news of our successes and look forward to celebrating in the near future!
