What is the RoSPA Awards scheme?

The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the wellbeing of not only employees but all those who interact with it.”

The majority of awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels. Gold medals, president’s awards, orders of distinction and the Patron’s Award are presented to organisations sustaining the high standards of the gold level over consecutive years.

Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education.

There are specialist awards for health at work, environmental management and fleet safety, and excellence trophies for the best international, new entry, workforce involvement and organisation operating or based in Scotland. RoSPA’s top accolade is the Sir George Earle Trophy.

Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2018 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 13th consecutive year. Click for more information about the RoSPA Awards.

The importance of Health and Safety at Work

More than 14,000 people die as a result of accidents across the UK each year. Obviously, an accident cannot be avoided at all times, but certain precautions can be put in place to ensure that all safety measures are met. After all, prevention is better than cure.

For nearly 100 years, RoSPA has been working to change both legislation and attitudes towards accidents; urging organisations and the public to take the appropriate steps to help to avoid an accident before it happens. Although it is true that ‘accidents will happen’ it is also true that many of them could have been avoided if simple processes had been followed.

Safety is our Number One Priority

Without doubt, we are proud to say that safety is our number one priority. This forms one of our core values and is an integral part of every decision that we make at Catsurveys. By doing so ensures that a positive health and safety culture is maintained and safety behaviours chosen.

Through well managed consultation with the team we ensure that whilst undertaking our services for our clients, it is done so in a safety conscious mind set, which also maintains the wellbeing of not only our Team but all interested stakeholders that may be affected.

We ensure that that training, instruction and supervision of all our teams is of the highest calibre which allows us to complete our operations to the best quality and in the safest manner practicable.

We never compromise in the technological advances in the equipment we provide our teams and believe they are the best equipped within our industry.
