Catsurveys are delighted to announce that we have been successful in reaching the finals of the SME National Business Awards in the Employer of the Year category. This is a fantastic achievement and reaching the finals of the National Awards shows our commitment to be the ‘Employer of Choice’ within our industry.
What are the SME National Business Awards?
The SME National Business Awards are made up of 17 categories that allow any successful business in the UK to enter these prestigious awards. Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are businesses whose personnel numbers are 250 employees or less. All entries are judged by a national panel of judges.
Why did we enter the Employer of the Year award?
There have been many positive changes at Catsurveys over the past year, and we felt these changes deserved recognition.
We have had a comprehensive benefits review which has led to a 46% increase in benefits uptake. These benefits include; paid charitable work day, sick pay, company funded private health care and regular social events.
Our gym membership benefit has been extended to a ‘wellness voucher’ which allows employees to use any gym of their choice, not just the company chosen gym. Since the wellness voucher has been introduced we have experienced a 72% increase in gym usage. We also operate a fitness ‘boot camp’ at our company premises every week which has had an increased uptake this year.
Our new Apprenticeship programme allows us to attract new and enthusiastic talent to our organisation. We currently have two apprentices working at Catsurveys completing a Business Administration apprenticeship and an AAT Accounting Technician apprenticeship.
This year we nominated a member of staff that is known as the ‘Emotional and Psychological Champion’. Our aim for the Emotional and Psychological Champion was to have someone who feels passionately about empowering their peers to normalise the discussions surrounding mental health, someone who will drive changes in all our perceptions and attitudes and provide visibility for this fundamental aspect of our well-being.
These are only some of the notable changes that we included in our awards submission that qualified us as finalists. We look forward to celebrating at the SME National Business Awards ceremony on the evening of Friday 7th December at Wembley Stadium in London. Wish us luck!
