Volunteering in Hungary

Six members of the Catsurveys team based at our office in Hungary, Budapest, took part in their volunteering day on 23rd September. This took place at Budaörsi Állatmenhely; an animal shelter in Budaörs, Hungary.

Budaörsi Állatmenhely provides shelter for hundreds of animals and gives them a chance to find a forever home. The animal shelter was registered in Pestmegyei court in October 2001 and since then the farm has developed a lot. Old housing has gradually disappeared and with new kennels and facilities have been implemented.

The team that visited the animal shelter consisted of Attila Földi, Krisztián Szabó, Dóra Kovács, Cintia Béres, Zsolt Szabó and Dóra Csikós. The staff were able to help with the caretaking of the animals whilst at the shelter. Some cleaned the food containers and the cat housing areas, whilst others took the dogs for a walk to provide some exercise.

”We had a very nice day there and the shelter was grateful for our help” explained Dóra Csikós.

As well as volunteering at the animal shelter, the team also managed to raise 12,000 HUF from their colleagues which was then doubled by Catsurveys. With the money raised, the team bought and donated 75kg dry dog food and 3 kg canned dog food to the shelter.

Thank you to the staff who volunteered at the animal shelter and to the team at CATSURVEYS who donated. To find out more about Budaörsi Állatmenhely please visit their website here.
